Andrea Renda

Director of Research

CEPS Centre for European Policy Studies

Andrea Renda is Director of Research at the Centre for European Policy Studies CEPS in Brussels. He holds a PhD in Law and Economics, attained at Erasmus University Rotterdam and provides regular advice to several institutions, including the European Commission, the European Parliament, the OECD, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and many more. Andrea Renda is Adjunct Professor of Digital Policy at the School of Transnational Governance of the European University Institute (EUI), in Florence (Italy); A non-resident Senior Fellow at Duke University, and Visiting Professor of AI policy at the College of Europe in Bruges. He is a Fellow of the World Academy of Arts and Science, a CITI Fellow at Columbia University’s Centre for Tele-Information; Co-Chair of the OECD working group on Artificial Intelligence Risks and Accountability; co-Director of the Forum for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence; and Director of the Trade and Technology Dialogue. He is Vice-Chair of the ESIR High-Level Expert Group at the European Commission DG Research and Innovation; a member of the Scientific Committee of the Smart Specialisation Strategies for Sustainability (S4) platform at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre; and a fellow of the European Commission’s DG GROW for 2023.
