Kurt Satzinger

After completing his studies in “Materials Science” at the Montanuniversität Leoben in 2008, Kurt Satzinger worked as a development engineer in the R&D department of voestalpine Stahl, specializing in high-strength steels for the automotive industry. In 2010, he obtained his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. From 2011 to 2013, Satzinger worked as a product manager, focusing on high-strength steels for the automotive industry and electrical steel. Subsequently, he held the position of Head of Quality - Electrical Steel until 2018, overseeing the commissioning of the world’s most advanced annealing plant for electrical steel. Between 2018 and 2023, Satzinger served as a program manager for strategic major projects at the Linz site, including the largest investment project to date by voestalpine Stahl GmbH, involving the construction of an electric arc furnace as part of voestalpine’s sustainability strategy. Since 2024, Satzinger has been leading global research, development, and innovation for the voestalpine Group.
