For two days, the Museumsquartier Vienna will turn into a research and innovation campus.
First held in 1983 as part of the European Forum Alpbach, the Technology Talks developed into the leading platform for future issues in the areas of research, innovation, and technology.
After 40 successful years, the Technology Talks are now being reinvented: Starting in Vienna (for the first time back-to-back with the FFG Forum), the summit of the technology community will take place every autumn in central locations in Austria.
With a strong focus on international and European developments, technology trends will be discussed, breakthrough innovations identified and current questions of RTI policy addressed.

Discussing Technology: the leading technology conference for 40 years
Technology for Triple Transition: ecological, digital, human.
The Triple Transition – the simultaneous “green” and digital transformation that is also meant to be socially just – poses major challenges for companies, the public sector and society as a whole. Ideally, climate protection and digitalization complement and reinforce each other.
In order to successfully manage the comprehensive transformation and take advantage of the opportunities that arise, technological know-how and in-depth systemic knowledge are required. Progress in key enabling technologies is still needed in many areas, and many breakthrough innovations can be expected soon.
The Technology Talks focus on the role of research, technology and innovation (RTI) for the Triple Transition. What role do technologies play in transformation processes? Are we still lacking technologies for the “green” transformation? What breakthroughs can be expected in artificial intelligence? What role do human beings play in the transformation of socio-technical systems? Building on this, implications for international, European, and Austrian RTI policies are drawn.
